It isn’t a sexy pick, but it is a low risk pick. You have to think that a Center projects to be a starter pretty well. Not what I wanted, but it isn’t a horrifying selection. There are going to be a lot of talented dudes available with the second rounders…
I just…I don’t know…I don’t HATE the pick, we need an elite center…but how can we pass on Clay Matthews? He better be there at the top of Round 2 ManKok
Really? People want Dirty Sanchez? Who says he’ll be any better than Quinn? And it’ll be another year before he sees the field and another year after that before you find out what you have.
Draft mania always overtakes folks … you want Percy Harvin? Orakpo? Please, busts both of them.
I didn’t want Mark Sanchez, although he’ll probably be better than Quinn, but if you woke up today and thought what we really need is a center, a bunch of ex-Jets and the sixth round of the draft than you’re drinking Kool-Aid.
I’m fine with this pick. We had 2 good offensive linemen last year. Remember how good the line became with Joe Thomas. I’m not saying he’s Joe Thomas but still. Maualuga still hasn’t been selected yet so that must tell you something.
I’m ok with the pick – will never argue with an offensive lineman. Needs to be the strength of the team.
That said, with Buffalo taking a C at 28, and the Steelers supposedly considering Mack as well, this is a guy who probably wouldn’t have been around for the early second round. We picked up a second rounder, and a pair of sixths when we only had a couple of picks in tomorrow’s rounds. When it comes down to it, Mangini is bringing in far more of “his” players, quicker than expected.
Wow, I’m surprised at the disdain. I don’t know where Mack was slated, but I’m happy we’re helping the line.
LB or DE would have been fine.
Tell me something though. What $^$#^ good is a WR going to do us with no QB, no real RB, and a weak line that is on the field too often because our defense sucks? How did drafting WRs work out for Detroit? How is not drafting them working out for Philly/Pitt?

WHAT THE F*** THIS IS F()*% BULLS@%^*)!!! MOVE THIS STUPID TEAM AGAIN!
Terrible Pick
I agree, this is garbage.

So we essentially traded Mark Sanchez for a center, some random ass Jet scrubs and half the sixth round…. Sigh.
Three years and counting until we hire a new coach/gm combo….
Hey Amar, how do you really feel?
This is soo bad. One of the top 3 centers would have been there in the 2nd round. Get one of the pass rushers or WRs with this pick. Screw this.
Craig you’re such a ManKok apologist.
A lot of talented Centers would have been available, too. Well, except for Alex Mack now.
Really a center? With the USC

Well, at least it pisses off the Steelers–who would have loved to have this guy.

I’m frackin depressed right now that we didn’t bring the son of Matthews home…
Hey everybody… the Cavs play tomorrow!
Yay, thanks for the uplifting fact TOT!
With some time for reflection, I like this pick a bit more than initially. It odes strengthen the line, and that’s key.
Umm…. WHO?!?!
Pro Bowl player. 10 year + player
LOVE THIS PICK!!
I predict that he’ll break out hearts someday, however, by going to greener, warmer pastures, leaving us sobbing like babies.
