Grady, Cliff Receive Some MVP Love
November 19, 2008Should Buckeye Fans Be Worried?
November 19, 2008Just a few news blurbs to get us in the mood. Dim the lights and pop in your McCoys CD…
From the Detroit News:
The Michigan-Ohio State line opened with the Buckeyes being a 19-point favorite, matching the largest spread in the rivalry.
Ohio State also was favored by 19 in 1962, and went on to win, 28-0. […]
With a victory, Ohio State can clinch at least a share of the Big Ten championship.
And remember that prize running backrecruit that YouTube’d his way to Michigan?
In today’s weekly Big Ten teleconference, Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said sophomore Zion Babb was no longer with the team. Rodriguez said the wide receiver hasn’t been with the team since Sunday.
So… yeah. I was sitting on this until I had some outside confirmation and this serves as outside confirmation since three guys were mentioned as a group of players who had already made their decisions. The other two who have told the coaches they are out: sophomore LB/S Artis Chambers and Sam McGuffie.
While there is plenty more to this story than UM’s record, this is still a huge blow to Rich Rodriguez’s first year as the HC. And if Vegas has any inkling, things aren’t about to get better…

Two things:
1) re: the sign… best joke I’ve heard this week so far: “Did you hear they cancelled the OSU/Michigan game? Yeah, apparently Michigan’s offense couldn’t make it past Toledo.” [rim shot]
2) I hope McGuffie does a couple of flips over people on his way over to South Bend or wherever he is going. Sheesh.
I guess he’s having some clinical depression issues, so I don’t want to knock him. He has to do what’s best. But this has to be a pretty big blow to Rod.
Sucks that he’s struggling w/ those issues. But I’m happy as hell he’s leaving the school. I love the fact that players are quitting on RichRod already, just makes me giddy.
Probably go down to Texas somewhere since that’s where he grew up I think.
Go Blow
Yes, he’s from Texas. I hope everything’s OK. My post was more just that I’m frustrated that, on top of everything else, that athletic ability is leaving the program. Ugh.
I’m stoked for this game and making the trek from D.C. to CBus to witness my first OSU-Michigan game in person. I think the Bucks will win… but 19 points, wow, that’s a lot for a rivarly game, even with Michigan’s offense in tatters.
I’ve been to one OSU/UM game in my life: 1992, the 13-13 tie. I went with my dad (I was 15), and I had all my UM gear on and he his OSU gear on.
It was odd, because after the game ended in a tie, no one really knew what to do/think/say. It was oddly silent on the way out of the stadium.
they tell michigan jokes in poland.
