Brand New: Browns Confidential
November 25, 2008Randy Lerner Interview Recap
November 25, 2008Never a name you want to hear when it comes to someone on a team of your rooting interest: James Andrews.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn will have his injured right index finger examined by noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews.
Quinn, who broke the finger and damaged a tendon on his throwing hand in a win over Buffalo last week, will visit Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., for a second opinion on Tuesday, a person with knowledge of Quinn’s injury said on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
Quinn is seeing Andrews on his own initiative, the person said Monday night.
Bare in mind that this is all speculative at this point given the “sensitivity” of the issue. So much for the simple fracture that couldn’t be damaged any further if he were to play. I’m not sure if this is one of those issues that was misdiagnosed by the medical staff (which players cannot speak poorly of) or a case of the team attempting to keep an injury under wraps. We’ll keep you posted as we come across any updates.

In fairness, better to hear it about his finger, as opposed to his elbow or shoulder, which is usually what you hear about when you hear about Dr. J.A.
What’s the over/under on days until info about the staph infection and finger amputation is leaked, rather than announced?
I think everyone goes to James Andrews for everything now. Seriously I read it on the bottom line in about every upper limb injury out there.
ESPN and Foxsports are reporting Quinn is out for the year…
welcome back DA…
yeah greg, i just saw the scroll along the bottom of espn… interesting. did we ALREADY ruin this guys career? god i hope not.
I hope not too. I saw the update in my fantasy rosters. I was holding on to Quinn as a backup in case Warner got hurt. I am devastated. I can’t believe we have to play with DA the rest of the way now. Now yanking him and messing with his confidence looks like an even worse decision. Lets hope he gets healed up quickly and can back at Training Camp as the starter next year. He didn’t get that luxury this year. And the team was playing crappy anyway. Maybe it’s better he sits out the rest of the year and waits until there are better pieces around him. I am talking myself out of being devastated as I type.
