Scott asked me yesterday if I was planning a “What To Watch For” post for the Buckeye game. My response: how about they don’t suck?
I’m looking for the Buckeyes to come out with a rather large, Southern California size chip on their shoulder. I’m looking for them to dominate an opponent. Troy is probably a little better than Ohio. The Buckeyes need to throw the mini-Trojans around and get some confidence today. What do you think?
Halftime Update: Buckeyes 14, Troy 10
Terrell Pryor starting the contest, and playing the majority as Todd Boeckman did not even muster an entire series. Pryor’s doing it on the ground (9 rushes, 74 yards) as well as the air (7-11, 81 yards, 2 TD). But his speed has also been the bane of his existence as a busted play at the end of the second half resulted in a big loss, moving the Buckeyes out of FG range.
Troy scored on a big play that started after Marcus Freeman missed a tackle in the open field. The spread offense strikes again.
Thoughts on Pryor? Thoughts on the Buckeye’s inability to tackle in the open field? Anyone miss Todd Boeckman?

Terrell Pryor looks ok so far. He gets himself moving, but he never truly looks like he is running hard. The Buckeyes don’t appear to have that sense of urgency. They also don’t seem to have any big play ability without Beanie Wells in the lineup. That might sound like an obvious point, but I never would have imagined that the Buckeyes backup runners Boom Heron and Saine would struggle this much to pick up the slack. I guess it is a testament to Beanie’s pure ability.
Boeckman looked horrendous on that throw Lmao. He a disgrace. With pryor you gotta take the good with the bad. I’m disappointed with robo tho idk wtf happened to him
Robo looked bad, but Heron looked good, just shy of 100 yards and he would’ve got that if they didn’t give clean up duty to Mo Wells.
Pryor has some learning to do, but looked really good.
