Oh, So THAT’S Why The Browns Lost
May 8, 2008Live Blog: Eastern Conference Semis Game Two
May 8, 2008I’m a Buckeye fan. I hate the UM Woodchucks on principle. So when I caught wind of this story, it made me chuckle deep down…
It seems that Browns Wide Receiver Braylon Edwards isn’t too happy with the new Michigan coach. In fact, in one move Richie Rich made quite a few people from the Mitten State mad. I first heard the report on Jim Rome is Burning, so I went to the source for all things woodchuck, MGoBlog. Here’s what Braylon Edwards said on the family of ESPN networks…
“I’m glad you gave me a ‘Go Blue’ question, because Rich Rod gave the No. 1 jersey to an incoming freshman DB,” Edwards said, sounding somewhat annoyed. “The No. 1 jersey has never been worn by anybody outside of a wide receiver — it dates back to Anthony Carter, so I’m going to have a talk with (Rodriguez) about that next time I see him. But outside of that, he’s been doing a great job.”
“No freshman will be allowed to wear the No. 1,” Edwards said. “The number holds too much significance and too much value. There are three criteria to receive it: first, no freshmen; second, the GPA (grade-point average); third, off-the-field conduct.”
Yeah, remember a little while back when Braylon gave a bunch of money to the university? That little half-million dollar donation? That was to set up a scholarship fund for the number 1, so that it goes to the best WR on the team. Good job Rich! Way to tick off the hand that feeds you! By the way, Les Miles approves…

Some people just don’t “get it,” and by some of the things I’ve seen since RR took over, he’s obviously one of them…
