When A Rivalry Isn’t A Rivalry
April 27, 2008Three-Possession Game
April 28, 2008I’m sorry, but you guys are just wrong…these new uniforms just suck!
Sunday, April 27th. The Browns drafted an ILB, 2 pass catchers and a a couple D-linemen. LeBron had 34 points and the assist to Delonte West, who buried the open jumper and possibly the Wizards in one motion. But maybe, just maybe the most important thing that happened in Cleveland sports today was Tribe ace C.C. Sabathia regaining control and desire in a 1-0 loss to the New York Yankees.
Sabathia pitched 8 solid innings, striking out 8 while walking only 1. He allowed 4 hits and made only one mistake, which Melky Cabrera deposited onto the home-run porch. You saw the frustration on C.C.’s face after the ball was hit. We also saw some fire from Sabathia as he pitched his way out of a lead-off double in the sixth. He struck out A-Rod and Shelley Duncan, then gave a trademark scream and fist-pump. Perhaps as impressive was his determination to stay in the game for the 8th inning, despite having passed the 100 pitch plateau.
Yes, the offense was disappointing, but Chien-Ming Wang was fantastic as well all game. Wang matched Sabathia by allowing only 4 hits while striking out 9. The Indians dropped game 3 of the series, but can still take it from New York on Monday in the rare wrap-around series.
There is a good chance that these day 2 picks by the Browns won’t turn out to be pro-bowlers, as they rarely are. The Cavaliers could have still come back to take this series had they lost game 4 to the Wizzies. But getting Sabathia back on track could lead to big things for the Indians, as they continue to catch up to the White Sox for the division lead.
Center-fielder Grady Sizemore saw his consecutive games played streak stopped at 382 games due to a tender ankle that could have him sitting a few more games.

I knew I should’ve taken the under…
No matter how many times you repeat it, you’re not going to change my opinion. I love the alternate uniforms.
No kidding, those uniforms are great! What a pitching matchup that was to watch. It’s never a bad thing to see a matchup like that. You just wish you were on the other end usually.
You don’t have to agree with me…you just have to recognize you’re wrong!
Sure seems like you’re in the minority on this one buddy.
