Forty-Two Minutes For Wally
April 17, 2008A Wasted Season
April 17, 2008Good news is that Phil Savage is on board and isn’t completely comfortable going into this season with only Eric Wright, Daven Holley and Brandon McDonald at the corners. Not only are Wright and McDonald only in their second season, but given the knack for injuries among our DBs (Gary Baxter, anyone?) we will likely need more depth than we currently possess.
McDonald himself was a fifth-round selection last year, so there is opportunity to draft some quality on the second day. However, Savage will not limit his additions to the draft itself.
“This is a group that we need to find somebody, whether it’s in the fourth round or the seventh round on as an undrafted free agent,” Savage said today. “But we do think we will add a player at that position at some point on Sunday.”
We have about 10 days to get our numbers together. I’m not banking on a Marques Colston-type player coming our way in the sixth or seventh round, but hey…it can happen.

That photo is so bittersweet.
it pains me to see santonio in a steeler uniform.
if only there was some way to get into the early 2nd round, pick up kenny phillips and move brodney to CB, we’d be set.
