Guess who’s staying for dinner?
February 29, 2008GAMBLOG Picks Of The Week
February 29, 2008Welcome to the weekly best of the web. (By the way, my friend would kill at that game.)
So what has been going on this week…
Around here the Cavs won one, and lost two. LeBron scored his 10,000th point, and Mike Brown got ejected. Scott wondered what might have been if the Cavs went after Sam Cassell or Mike Miller. Rock looked forward to the return of Andy Varejao. I thought about the Indians, The Browns QB debate, and impending free agency.
Around the Cleveland sports scene-
The Indians got back to work, and won their first Spring Training game. These Tribe headlines speak for themselves- Peralta working on range, (I certainly hope so) Hafner thinks swing is corrected. (But really, what else is he gonna say?)
My Tribe writing man-crush on DiaTribe brings you this gem about Adam Miller. (As a sidenote, linking to Chevy Chase movies might be a sure-fire way to keep my attention. I’m just strange like that…)
Those who remember Don Rogers will appreciate this article from The Cleveland Fan. If you’re a Browns fan younger than 30 consider this required reading.
Buckeye fans knew this already, but Vernon Gholston is not human. His combine rankings- 4th in 40 yard dash, 2nd in 10 yard split, 1st in bench press, 1st in vertical jump, 1st in broad jump. Yeah, he’s going pretty early in the draft.
In other news-
This video made the rounds, but it is really, really funny. It’s bad enough Vince didn’t know Devin Harris was making his Nets debut, or that he didn’t realize Harris was at practice, but he didn’t even notice Richard Jefferson wasn’t at practice either! Vince, what exactly do you do at practice?
If you haven’t seen the banned Bud Light commercial, you need to head over to Deadspin for a good laugh. Deadspin also tipped us off to this, Garfield minus Garfield. Trust me.
I leave you with LeBron’s milestone dunk…

Thanks for the Lebron vid. Wonderful thing to send to the Kobe Lovin brother in law.
I feel Vince is fully in tune with his team.
Two quick Lebron notes.
Do you think he KNEW that was his milestone and slammed it a little harder for SC?
Did anyone admire how he physically grabbed some team members by the arms off the bench the other night after losing to Boston?
I think that was a nice gesture on LeBron’s part…almost saying “I won’t let you get down”.
